Sun Flowers and Sail Boats

I have always had a liking for sunflowers. This is a painting that I completed recently in Queensland. The inspiration for the image comes from growing sun flowers myself in Tasmania in 2008 which was a bright success for my house on Madden St, filling my front yard with big bobbing smiling flowers that seemed to be having important conversations with one another. My inspiration also comes from the grand Vincent VanGogh and Ken Done.


Interestingly, there are a few hidden details in the painting that you might not see at first, ie, a boy walking down the path, figures on the jetty and a bird talking to a mole.

The use of murals for homes is becoming more and more common. If you are renovating your home, then you should at least get a mural for one room somewhere. Murals look  far cooler than plain painted walls.

When painting murals on walls, try not stuff the room with different murals. One nicely painted mural looks really perfect in a regular or small sized room. If you want to get a mural for your boy’s room then you should consider any one of the following.

Car Murals

Car Murals are the coolest murals for boys. All boys love cars and racing, at least to my knowledge. If your child is a car fanatic then you should get him a car mural of his favorite.

If your boy is younger then perhaps he would prefer cartoon car mural for his room that is colorful.

Murals of Alexander Ovachkin and Roberto luongo

Here are some snaps of my most recent mural project. These two murals depict hockey players, the one in red being Alexander Ovachkin and the one in blue Roberto Luongo. They were painted for a family in Kanata each on a boy's bedroom wall. Each boy chose the particular hockey player he wanted and gave me advice on how he wanted it painted. They were quite pleased with the final result.

 

Alexander Ovachkin was born September 17, 1985) is a Russian professional ice hockey left winger and captain of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League.

 

Roberto Luongo born April 4, 1979) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender for the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Born in Montreal, Quebec, he is of Italian and Irish ancestry. He employs the butterfly style of goaltending and has previously played in the NHL for the New York Islanders and the Florida Panthers.
